Or if there is an important clean up coming up that you heard about, you could create the post and publish it. This would save a ton of time and give some people personal ownership of the site

Got it (althrough I still felt better after Mike reviewed the write up and decided I wasn't a total dumb-butt)...

So... when my winch comes in and we all install it together, we can write that up and post it! :)=) I like it!

Could trip reports actually be organized, or would it be like the VJC (take your choice) threads where you wade through pics and comments and there is no "actual" description of the trail or the trip itself? }:)

we can categorize them however youd like, think they should be based off rating or location?

I like that I can go to a place and see comments and planning and "man that rocks!" from the people on the trips... the "been and done" aspect, but I like the set aside category of actual club trips that tell you about the trail, but also tell you about the trip, the fellowship, and the "event"...

So, maybe a trail section that writes them up in just in descriptive term (very handy on other boards when you guys are talking about a specific trail to go read up on it... almost "Wells Bookish" with pics...) that is organzied by rating, and a "Past Runs" section that has a more formalized (written by whomever is designated to write it, not just Skatch) that memorializes the runs as an event... this can be timelined, alphabetical, regionalized on an interactive flash map, etc...

Does any of that make sense?

K I quickly threw together what middle ground could look like. (hopefully, maybe, etc)
Getting around all those temp boxes is going to be a boo but...

And Chris no matter what my southern heritage taught me, I hate white ;)

One unknown is what advertising will be there at random though

Comparison now

gettin' there. the black is better than the white... I think that's why I liked that one template from Revolution... it was a least darker.

How can i buy fish stickers and calendars on the mock up? :)=)

Height 4'7" ?!?!?!?!

I've grown!!!! Thanks man! (and it's a 93 XJ, not a 94)

and I've been searching for the "Grocery Gitter" trim package for years! Thanks for the article...

and where can I buy Pirate4x4 merchandise on the HG4x4 site? That wasn't obvious to me...

I agree with this concept completly!

When organizing a run or trying to decide on one, it is nice to go read a write-up on it, where it is and what to expect with pictures. Very helpfull!

It was actually pretty funny. At first glance I was looking at layout, but this morning I was looking at content and nearly cried I was laughing so hard... darn you smart, witty people. :)=)

even if the re-design is put off for a while, do we want to add a "Trail Overview" section that just lists all the trails we know, a brief description of some of the obstacles, how long it takes, the rating, etc...?

It was pretty helpful on the other site that I cannot name anymore.

I think thats a good idea, Im hoping to have the new site up by mid april

how do you think we should categorize them?
#34
I think so far so good. I really like what I have seen of it. What about setting it up by trail rating? Just a thought.
#35
I know this would take a bit longer to setup but if it is database based can we have it setup more like a search option.
You can sort on Location, difficulty, etc. depending on what you're looking for.

We haven't done that many trails

Not as a group, but based on Bob's experience, the Wells Book, and data from other sources (that we can credit and reference) we could build a HECK of a db and be a local resource that other sites refer to... :)=)
#38
Plus if it was setup now then in the future as we add more trails the system would already be in place.
#39
gotcha
#40
I didn't do it...

but there is interest and some good points made here...
