True Confessions...

lol.. I love the outdoors, I love rock crawling, I love boating, I love camping, etc.. What I am giving up (at least for now) is the modifying of a jeep and such, pushing it to the limit, building it up to do the biggest baddest trail out there.. just becomes extremely expensive and almost stressful at times. The entire point of the outdoors to me is to relax, not have to worry about anything just have fun. I"m scared to run a trail because of how much it may cost me afterwards. Just need to focus my money else ware for now. I got a boat that needs less then $100 to be complete, I (finally) have a good working jeep, and a good working truck to go camping/joy riding with, and I realized the other day I literally have everything but the clothing to go hunting thanks to my Dad.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE 4wheeling/rock crawling I just get to spending far more money on it then I really should/want to because I feel the need to keep up with other people to wheel/hang out with them. Obviously, anything that is fun and you enjoy costs money.. I'm just finding other things I enjoy that are a bit cheaper :)

Thank you, sir. that doesn't mean you are giving up "4 wheeling". Not every trip has to be extreme or hard core. You are an "outdoorsman" and you prefer "expedition" runs instead of rock crawling....

It's all good, brother!
#503
I can't afford expedition runs either lol but yes, I would absolutely love running week long trips like Colorado several times a year... that would be awesome. But yeah, I suppose I"m giving up on rock crawling would have been a better phrase.

Whenever I hear someone say the word "hormone", I picture it spelled "whore moan" in my head.

I intentionally leave my HigherGround bookmark on every computer I use to the main page, not forums, just so i can always see what cool new stuff Mike's done.

Nice link to the Kicker install write up.

Not just your average hand model

When I go to Walmart my mission is to never stop moving. I choose the paths of least resistance (and/or oblivious fat people). That means if a jam looks to be coming up I will take as many added isle pathways as it takes to keep my pace from slowing. I must be fun for the security cameras.

Wait until Emma turns 13...you'll remember how OLD you are. Ivan's birthday is Sunday. Man am I feeling it. I can only imagine how Paul felt watching his babies graduate high school, or how T.C. felt hearing the news first hand that Abraham Lincoln had been assassinated... :)

When clients email back short things like "You rock." after informing them of their order/design completion, I respond succinctly, "Yes. Yes I do."

You rock.

I've been to Canada once on a fishing trip about 20 years ago. Just saying. (In case I ever go missing, search Canada.)

Edit: Ok, my true confession is that this whole "missing offroader" thing is ridiculous. I've read through the whole thing twice. She says in the first thread that he hasn't wheeled in over a year. Why does his "trip to McDonalds" warrant searching every trail in AZ? I agree with the guy that JoeW threatened to ban. This is fishy.

this is why chris and i searched that area around mcdonalds and not trails. we feel he either had been jacked and tossed somewhere more than likly in a 25 or less radius of the area, wanted to disappear or maybe an insurance scam. not sure really what to think. vjc just made it worse with all the extra crap that has been added. it is strange that none of the cards or phone have not been used since this happened. you might think that if it was a jacking then they might have gone a spree or something. too many questions and not enough answers right now but i will look because if it happened to me i would hope that maybe a few people might want to try and find me.

Hes either dead or hiding out somewhere waiting to be "found" for the publicity

I would look for you, Russ... of course, it would be an easy search because I suspect I would find you at the McDonalds anyway... but I would search for you buddy.

I do agree with Virgil (and I appreciate you looking in a common sense way, Russ) that all this "looking on Jeep trails" bit is a touch looney. Bus stations, you bet. Airport, yep. Looking around the areas you did today, no problem... but Four Peaks? Backway to Crown King??? I once wheeled in Canyon de Chelley so I'll check with the guides up there?!?!? That's what I find goofy. I do not mock the serious concern folks have and I definately feel for his family and I hope it's resolved soon for their sake, but show some common sense folks. A 1/2 tank of gas, no history of going off on his own, hasn't wheeled in a year, didn't bring his meds, hasn't used his phone or credit cards...

I agree something horrible has happened, but his going off wheeling on his own and getting lost isn't one of them...

I was thinking this but you put into words better than I can. Thank you.

I want to build a fire lookout tower. Anybody want to help assemble a 20-30ft. tower? http://www.fs.fed.us/database/acad/lt/

Sure, I have a hammer, skill saw, and a tool belt. I am ready.
