Havasu/Parker and/or Kingman
#1
anyone run any trails up in this area (Areas 2 and 4 in the Wells book)?

The Cracks were beautiful in a Grand Canyon kind of way.
Florence Junction was wonderfully diverse.
Sedona is Sedona and the red rock is awesome.
Table Mesa is very cool and fun with creek beds, etc...

just have no idea what it looks like up by Havasu/Parker or Kingman...

getting curious.

Here you go Alan. Here are some pics from Parker Desert Splash. The rocks down there are more like Table Mesa and Florence. Parker/Havasu is definitely a place that I want to wheel at some point in time.

Thanks, Jack. That's what I was looking for... what the terrain looks like. I like the crawling challenge, but I like the differnt environments too... Can't wait for the next Payette Draw run. I've missed all those.

(btw... Skatch, can you show Jack how to make big pictures small? I think he's new to computers and the boards. Thanks... :cool) )

Yeah, I'm new to these new fangled internet chat boards. :D I had no idea those pics were going to load that big. I hot linked them from the Victor Valley 4 Wheelers web site. :))

If I had your rig I would enjoy more of actual trail runs also. However mine is built for one thing and one thing only. Rocks.......It gets a little unhappy on some of the longer runs.

I like a mix, actually. the trail runs are nice, but if they drag on too long I get bored. I actually really, really enjoyed Judgment Day with all the water in the creek. Couple of obstacles, "exploring", etc... Sedona was fun too. That's why Moab seems like such an incredible trip... best of all worlds.

Substitute you try - Substitute you will fail. The omnipotent Moab knows no compare

:)=) Thank you, Yoda.

Back to Jack rock crawling... you all should have seen him taking the buggy lines on lower term. It was very, very cool. I wish Bob's ride was out there, but it was impressive.

too keep the Star Wars theme going, though... I did resist the dark side of Joe going "come on, man! be the first XJ to do the buggy line. come on! you can do it!" If that's how Joe wheels then I know why his shop stays busy! LOL

ok alan you got my attention when we going

Thanks for the compliments Alan. And thanks Mike for peeling the pics off and resizing them. :D

We wheel as hard or not depending on how we are feelin that day. If that obsticle was at the begining of the trail we probably wouldn't do it much as it can get not nice if you aren't paying attention. That's only the second time I've done it. And I've never done the one that Lance roasted and Jim made up with ease. However after my little date this weekend with Collateral Damage's 3rd waterfall I'll be ready to hit that obsticle too. :D

And I do hope you know that no time was Joe serious about you taking your XJ up there. You would ravage that thing if you even came close to attempting it. :D

I know Joe was kidding... "since your turn signal is on it means you are going" was the basis for his argument... 8| Plus, I figured Woody had done it before. ;)

About the only one who can goad me into doing an obstacle I'm not comfortable with is my son when he's in the Jeep and goes "sissy" when I start towards a bypass... then "Daddy Pride" kicks in! (and it usually involved Bob hanging off one side of my Jeep as ballast to keep me from floppin...)

Now, Geoff is another matter. I'd put cash money on him makin' it up the buggie line! A Rock Slappin crazy man is he! :cool)

Rick has done all kinds of lines on trails that people wouldn't even dream of. However several years ago he gave up all disregard for his personal belongings. :)=)

Now me on the other hand it only takes one or two people to goad me into doing an obsticle. I can hold off Joe and Jim, but when Bob's sister was doggin me to do Tilt a Whirl at the Cracks I had no choice, but to drop in that monster. :)=)

Jack who are you kidding, you have conversations with yourself that goad you into doing lines, it doesn't take anyone else...LOL

If you do Havasu let me know, my cousin lives up there and has a very well built rig and knows the trails. I will have to see if he is still up there or on vacation in CA.

Yeah, you are right. It's getting easier and easier to get myself to do any line on a trail. Some of the boys are talking about making an Annihilator run again soon. :)=) Should be fun. :eyeroll:

Rocks are hard on tires buit traction is good and it's a good time. Goin again in the fall. Prolly not the splash though, ton of rigs and the trails are like I-10 in the tunnel at rush hour.
