Fossil Springs July 18-20
#1
Just be thinking about when.

I have a request from someone for the wknd of July 19th or 26th.
Don't know if that will be too hot. If so we'd have to wait until after Monsoon season.

Camp Verde says 100/67
Strawberry says 87/50

Water is a constant 72 degrees there.

Last trip there

I am taking a week vacation on July 14th and am not returning to this job. I might be starting at a new dealership on August 1st depending on how negotiations go this week. These are the only 2 weekends I can go and we had such a good time last year, I want to make the hike again.

From my understanding, the power plant was torn down and we now have full access to the flumes road. Mike, if you can double check on this it would be great information.

We could also leave a vehicle at the power plant and take another one into strawberry. I hear the hike down from strawberry is a lot easier, but you just dont want to have to hike back out. We could take the flumes road to hike back to the power plant and then pick the car up in strawberry.

Either way I would love to go back to the springs for as many days as possible. Last time we only stayed 1 night, but if we could stay a couple nights this time it would be great.

You guys should manmp somewhere else and let some girls go to Fossil Creek! :))

Pishaw. I'll allow it if it's done like chewing gum in class.

i'm in whenever. trip last year was great. i agree we should do a couple of nights this time.

out

too hot for that area and the hike is long. Not fun hiking alone.
#7
I agree it may be too hot for the proposed times.

But the springs, rope swing, crystal clear water, cave thingies, greeness, etc make a 2hr hike more than worth it.

Looking at last year's calendar we actually went at the end of July then.

I could make it the weekend of the 19th.
2hr hike is nothing

If you guys do this on the 19th, then we can schedule Pyeatte Draw the following weekend and more people make the Pyeatte Draw run... :)=)

I know, man. I feel for you. I'm glad you rode Shotty on JD in Jan, but it'll be nice to get out again. It was cool your Mom was ready to ride on Saturday. I'm sorry she didn't get the chance, but maybe we can plan something else for a morning run and she can hit that...

HG has run it 3 times and you didn't even get your toes wet at Fossil so I can see why it wouldn't be worth it.

I like Py and I'd go up for it again.

Just saying that Fossil was a fav with some and worth doing it again whenever it gets slated.

I'd stay away from verde hot springs if I were you........:red|

I'd guess the temps and weather are closer to CV than Strawberry.......
#18
Ha. Yeah.

I'd say the high would be nearish CV but the low once you're on the water around the trees would be cooler.

Sounds like we would have a definite four if we go the 19th (myself,Steve,Michael, and Jared)...so I say we do it then. Jeff, Randy, Cooper, Scooby, Bobert, Jack and anyone else who hasn't posted on this thread are any of you up for a hike? check out the pictures from last year...very cool place not that bad of a hike. Think we should try dropping in from Strawberry side.
