Official HG September trip: 9-27-08 wknd
#1
I have off work the 18th - 29th of September
Lets plan a weekend wheeling trip

Any places you want to go?
#2
I nominate Soldier Pass (in hopes of calendar shots)

We did Broken Arrow around the same time last year. I'd love to camp in the same spot too.

So main question: September 20-21 or 27-28?
#3
and the answer is "yes". I'm good either weekend, just need to know in time to let CCV know before they publish the worship team schedule.

soldier's pass sounds good to me. I also enjoyed it up there, especially the mud. Maybe we'll get to camp this year too! LOL
#4
I'm good for either
Don't know where soldiers pass is but it sounds fun.

Soldier's short like BA. More scenic than anything.
I'm sure we could squeeze Shnebly or Spoon in too.

Soilder Pass: 3.0
If your looking for a fun drive but don't have much time, try this short route. This trip offers two interesting features: the stair-stepped Seven Apache Pools and the Unusual Devil's Kitchen. Challenges are exciting without being overwhelming.

Many Steep, rocky steps; however, articulation demands are minimal. Many stock high-clearance vehicles can make it.

The trail is less than one mile long, Add a little mileage for the two side trips. Can be driven in less than an hour.

Greasy Spoon: 3.5
Steep descents and climbs over rocky terrain. The first part of the trail is easy when dry, but slippery and difficult when wet. Don't drive this trail on a rainy day. Route finding can be confussing at times, becuase of the numerous side roads. Suitable for stock high-clearance SUV's when dry.

More remote and less traveled than other Sedona trails

Last year's trip including camping area

Yay for calendar shot opportunities! We should be good to go either weekend, too!!
#7
So would this be open to the likes of me and Ryan? Bob and I were talking about it last night. Could be some good times to try and get silly on some Sedona Trails.
#8
Pretty much open to anyone. Just know that this one is a more of a family camping oriented trip instead of just us guys ;)

*as in non-alcohol camping

K, no one had said one wknd is better than the other so the last weekend in September is it (same time we went last year).

September 27-28 is Saturday thru Sunday. Myself and others will be leaving Friday after work, so feel free to make it a two nighter if your schedule allows. If not, plan on Saturday morning for the main trail departure.
