Brian Gillespie attempted to break the land speed record in a Hasport Hondata Insight earlier this month. Instead, he ended up proving in a most dramatic way that the safety equipment in his car worked — or that miracles happen.
On Nov. 10 at El Mirage in San Bernardino County, Calif., Gillespie crashed the car going between 180 and 190 miles per hour. Amazingly, he walked away with relatively minor injuries.
“This is the most terrifying looking crash we have ever seen anyone survive and it happened at the El Mirage SCTA Meet just a week or so ago,” Brian Lohnes for Bangshift wrote.
Video footage of the record attempt showed the car tearing up the Mojave Desert floor, but the driver lost control, sending the car into barrel rolls and somersaults at times catapulting several feet of air. When it finally came to rest, it landed upside down on the hood.

When two planes carrying a total of 9 skydivers collided mid air, 12,000 feet above Superior, Wisconsin. The wings disconnected from one of the planes causing a fiery explosion. All 9 skydiver landed safely, as well as the two pilots, one of which was taken to the hospital to treat minor cuts.

It blows my mind how planes can crash in midair.. I mean, you aren't restricted by ANYTHING, and it's not like it just comes out of nowhere... lol Glad they all made it down alive!
