I started looking for a new gun a few weeks back. I just wanted to see what they were going for. I found some for $350 and up. I went back to look at them again and most of them are sold out. The ones that they have in stock are now $550 and up...

Im waiting to hear back on one up north.

I guess I need a long gun too. In class we were taught a pistol is only for fighting your way to your long gun. But then we were also taught every gun in your house should always be locked away in a safe so I don't know how that plays out.

where can you go around white tanks? I used to go off carefree near lake pleasent but got stopped by sheriffs unit saying it was a no shooting area

Well where Ive gone was still "ok" last year...
But Ive gone up watkins road and then get my way in further to the mountains and shoot there... use a decent mountain for a back drop to keep it safe & then clean up the area...

Keep looking. I'm toying with selling my AK to fund the purchase for an upper receiver for the AR I'm building. AK's can be found but with the new ban looming you want to act fast. If you can, get both! Go to shooters world and buy a stripped AR15 lower receiver for $140.00 and a parts kit for $65.00. Then the AR upper, not considered a firearm, will be much easier to get.
Check out theakforum.net and ar15.com. Both have for sale or Equipment Exchange sections you can browse. The guys on both are very helpful. Here is my AK I might be selling...

Therer are still a couple places next to lake pleasant that you can shoot. A couple months ago I went to a place right across from the lake main entrance and didnt have any problems.

Didn't really care for Ak's until I saw you could get them in black and like this :)g)

Just as a side note about the White Tanks.

Be careful, there is some State Trust Land mixed in amongst the BLM land, most of it is closer to the pavement and the water tower, however there are a few parcels in closer to the mountains.

On STL it is always illegal to Target Shoot. Only shooting that can be done on STL is hunting and you must have a license for what ever you are hunting. I would review a map to be sure the spot you select is not STL and is BLM.

I am sure most Shooters know this, but just incase I figured it would not be bad to post this to help anyone that did not avoid any fines.
