4:1 Install completed
#1
First off, thanks to Bob for the buy, Joe at Absolute Offroad for the new shaft install, and especially to my handsome brother in law, Michael for install help.

I got Bob's old Jeep's TeraLow-installed case but needed a new input shaft for my Auto tranny. Once Joe cracked open the case and switched them out, I brought it over to Bob's to complete the install.

Install went pretty easy although it did turn out I needed a new rear tranny seal (I found that out the hard way after putting it all back together :(

We also installed a new set of RE adjustable uppers on the rear axle and with the t-case set up for SYE, Bob's doube cardian driveshaft. Also my tranny mount was toast so I got a new one ($37 at CheckerZone Boys).

The only tough thing was getting the center skid back on. Because of plenty of undercarraige dings it was out of shape and the holes out of alignment. We were able to fix them using Handsome Mike's old trick:

The Skyjacker new linkage config is already noticeable on my shifting.

I was really hoping to get this done and not be down too long. Now that it's done I can't wait to try it out on the trails.

AWESOME. I need to try out some new stuff too.

Saturday stinks since we're having Katelyn's b-day party at 11, but if we go to church Saturday night, are you up for some TM Sunday morning as a shake down?

Ok, sooo apparently if you neglect the board long enough posting elves take over and post things for you :red|. This time the post was good but I don't want to press my luck. I hear those things can be evil }:(. I am working on my custom highline tube fenders with Geoff's help and I will post a progress report with pictures in a couple of weeks (after my Ragnar race 2/27)

Just wanted to add a thanks to Bob for the use of his garage and air tools for the first install and to Joe D. for the seal extender for the tranny.

With the help of Mike and Bob I installed the 4:1 on Sunday only to pull the whole thing back out again and reinstall by myself (with some phone support) on Monday. Apparently the teralow input shaft is shorter than the one on my stock t-case so it wasn't going into the seal on the back of the tranny....I was leaking tranny fluid like a siv (lost about a quart and a half in about 50 miles of driving). I pressed in the new extender seal Joe gave me and its been good ever since. So if anyone with a wrangler needs help pulling a t-case I got a good bit of experience :)=)

Well Saturday is still tentative for us. I would be going solo with my bro and his suzuki friends. Pretty sure Dana is giong to explore the ruins with Mike. I might just want to wait til Dana can come do some drivin' too. This Sunday won't work for us either ...If this weekend doesn't happen, I would want to do something one of the first weekends in March and I really want to run Upper Wookpecker and Highway to Hell soon 8|
