COURSE DESCRIPTION: J.E.E.P. is hosting an ASHI certified Wilderness First Aid and CPR Course. Wilderness First Aid and CPR is the recommended minimum level of training for Outdoor Enthusiasts, Expedition Leaders, and Search And Rescue Team members. Wilderness First Aid is targeted toward people and groups who find themselves beyond the urban emergency medical services system where there are extended patient contact times and the need to provide care with limited or improvised equipment. The training is practical, hands on, and focuses on managing scenarios with the equipment typically carried in the field.

Please contact the instructor to register or for additional information. The registration fee is requested in advance to order the textbooks and supplies.

Here is an update from Dallas. Still more room in the class if anyone is interested.

GOOD MORNING WILDERNESS FIRST AID CLASS!!!

If you receive this e-mail you are registered for Wilderness First
Aid, June 6 - 7, 2009.

Class location: Mesa Fire Station 202 on South Stapley between
Southern and Broadway on the west side. Approx 1 mile north of Hwy
60/Superstition Freeway.

Class Time: 8:30 - 5:00 both days. (We will be stuffing 10 pounds
of material in a 5 pound bag, so lock in and hang on.)

The Martineau's are the JEEP point of contact and class coordinators.
I am looking forward to another fun filled class with them.
(Actually Tony and Nancy both know more about this than I do, so hang
on....)

There is still room for a couple of more people if you know of anyone
interested.

FIRST AID KITS: First Aid supplies and fanny packs will be avaliable
for sale at the class at significantly below retail cost. If you
don't already have a good first aid kit, or another source for one,
you may find this helpful.

I look forward to meeting everyone at class. If you have any
questions please get hold of me.

Way to go VIRGIL. Another great class. This class with instructor Dallas Lane was as good as it gets. HE knew what we wanted to know and also knew what we needed to know to make the trail safer for all of us.

The first aid kit that Dallas had made up for us was perfect. I now understand the difference between, bandage and dressing and -- how to use them. Thanks goes out to Mr. Dallas Lane and another thanks goes out to Virgil who finds these guys.

Good Job Virgil. When Virgil post a class -- you need to look into it if it fits your needs. Virgil is able to find the right instructors...

Thanks -- Doug (KF7BDD)
