whats your plan?
#1
Where do you want to be 5, 10 years from now? Where will you work or live? How will your life be different? Married? Kids? What will your Jeep look like? Will you still own one? How will you make it happen?

Im not sure what I want in 5-10 years. 10 years ago I was just about done with my Bachelors degree, had my eye on a cute thing from NY and was driving Bronco while living with my parents. I thought I would be married in a year or two and have kids by the time I was 25-26.
Yeah that didn’t work out.
I was on track to be debt free in 3 years but the Jeep took me off track. I am going to start back on my plan this week. I need to sit down and look over my bills and see what I need to do.
I would like to find a new job in WellsFargo that is in underwriting.
The Jeep is done for the most part. I don’t plan on getting rid if it any time soon.
The truck needs to last a few more years and another 100K.
I would like to find a girl and have a kid but need to make sure I can support her and not bring all my debt into the relationship.
I would love to move to another state.

What is this word "change" you speak of? I don't think I even know how to pronounce it.
While not a plan, I'm sure 5-10 years from now I'll still be living vicariously through those around me, a passenger with my camera and nose against the glass if you will.
I have saved up a jar full of coin dollars to hand out to Jonathan and Dana's kids on holidays, so there's that.

Our list contains: own a house, have kids, live in a Spanish-speaking country for missions. I don't know what order any of that will happen in or if it's in God's plan, so we'll continue to pray about it daily.

X2.

5 - 10 years from now are actullay two different realities for Jennifer and I. In five years, we'll have two kids in high school. In 10 years we'll be "empty nesters". 8|

Five years from now, the home would be the only debt we owed. Personally, I would have a Jeep with a frame and Ivan would be driving the XJ. Professionally, our company would have gone public, so I would be working in a different environment of a publicly traded company and learning enough to take over as president of the company by the 10 year mark.

10 years from now... we'll see. Ivan would be 21, Katelyn would be 18 and Jennifer and I would finally live in a house that was almost worth what we had paid for it three years ago :'( so there would be some decisions to make. I suspect one or more of our parents will either be out here, or living with us. I still see us in Phoenix, or the Phoenix area. We will have some land in the White Mountains we escape to. Hardcore wheelin' will be for the young bucks, but I'd have a built to high heaven rig that I rode around on scenic routes, knowing I would climb something if I wanted to. I would be 47 years old.

My five to ten year plan involves relying on my self for income of some kind, probably get married again because I think I've finally out lived my getting married at 20 and not getting to live the single life early on. My ideals on kids change on a weekly/monthly basis. Sometimes I want a boy to watch grow up and play football, build rock crawlers with etc.... Then at times I'm too selfish about the lifestyle I have and want to be able to do what I want when I want and where I want. I'll still be living in Arizona barring some unforseen tragedy that forces me to take care of my family in Kansas. I love Arizona and everything she has to offer.

In 5-10, I would like to see that

I'm healthy,
Cristina is still putting up with me,
my shop is still running at a better than average level of success,
we can still wheel,
I'm not a Grampa, My boys are 17 and 18, I hope they establish a career and relationship before the kids come along......

All of you get what you are listing here.....

A little update to mine...
I would like to have the 54 Ford on the road as a hot rod and with the mustang, I would like to have a good chunk of it done.
The plan is to take some bodywork classes and some metal working stuff too.
I may not be mechanicaly inclined but I think I would be good at body work.

You can practice on my TJ. If you can make it look good again then you are ready for the 54 and the Stang.

Thanks everyone for all the replies. It sounds like most of you have an idea of where you want to go

Have you sat down and planned out what you need to do to make it happen? Do you need to make adjustments to your spending, job, values? Do you need to act differently? Do you need to stretch yourself as a person?

I think you are always needing to grow and make adjustments as a person. My goals for 5 years are much different at 32 than they were at 22. I'm also a much different person now than I was at that age.

Well with the cut backs at work Im starting to re-consider Las Vegas Metro PD....
Almost 38, if I can get in before 40, put in my 20yrs and retire, pay is better, so are all the other benifits & I wouldnt have to worry about a 401K either.
Means I would have to get into better shape too.
I could rent out the house and possibly buy another one in Vegas, also the work schedule is done in bi-weekly so it's 4on-3off 3on-4off So with this I should be able to drop down into AZ & meet up with the HG people & go wheeling... and there WOULDNT be any issue going to MOAB either....

the plan,
in 5 yrs i hope to have my company running strong and andrea not having to work. i would also like to be able to say "my house is worth more than what i paid for it". andrea and i will probly have 2 kids by then as i dont want to be an old dad. if it Gods plan then i would hope to be living in colorado or at least be really close to moving up there.

10yrs- be in colorado with kids and andrea at our victorian style house on 40acres. company running smoothly up there and have my buddy randy running it down here also. have a house down here possibly to come back to when i come down to go wheeling. have a healthy family and friends.

that pretty much sums it up. everyday we work towards our goal. the next house i buy will be in co.
