Leaking Rear Axle ???

I'm going to drain, inspect, and refill this stupid axle Saturday morning. Every time I park it, I get a 3-4" puddle on the ground. Anybody wanna come over and help me Saturday? While I have it apart, what should I inspect or check over? I'm at my wits end with this stupid leaking stinky messy axle!!! AHHHH!

Ok, sorry to be dramatic there, but I really feel better after typing that.

I live in north Phoenix. Near the SR51 and SR101 intersection. More specifically Union Hills and 40th St. More specifically, I live here.

I have a 2001 XJ with the LP D30 in front and the D35 in the back. Neither is a desireable axle, but with my 31" tires and open diffs, I don't think I'm stressing them too bad. I have 3.55 stock gears in them now. I'm pulling the camper to Colorado in 3 weeks and I'm thinking about calling Joe this morning and seeing if he can get me in to regear before that. I'll probably regret it later, but I'm thinking about regearing these axles instead of trying to swap them out with others.

youre at 355 gears right now?

Youd have to spend some cash to get the front regeared to match. Also have you ever driven one with a lockright before?

I was leaning towards just using the shafts. Maybe locker, but I don't know. With 31" tires, I was going to gear to 4.10's. Yes, I'm at 3.55 gears now. Dave has a lockright in the rear of his 44. I'm aware of the handling with one installed.

I'm not going to tear it open this weekend as planned. Marcia and I hashed it out and I'm just going to regear. Oh, and I'm going to keep bumping this thread until someone acknowledges my excitement about finally regearing.
