Any Recommendations for Sleeping Pads?
#1
We just bought a new tent and found that our 2 Twin inflatable mattressess don't fit, so we're looking into the 'Self-Inflating' Sleeping Pads available in many stores. (We've needed to pare down for some time, so the tent size is a good thing!).

I've seen Therma-Rest and Coleman brands, there may be others.

They don't look very thick or wide! Are they comfortable? Which one do you like and why?

Any and all comments and recommendations welcome!

Thanks,
GnD

It really depends on how much room you have for your gear. Are you going to be hiking in or just offloading from your Jeep?

I own a Therm-a-rest and a cheap walmart brand one. The therm-a-rest is a lot more comfortable and is small and lightweight. I also own a queen sized inflatable mattress. Ive never seen a roll pad that will match the full size inflatable in terms of comfort. The downside of the inflatables is they are heavier and take up more space

For tent/car camping Id look at a full size therm-a-rest or something similar. They arent very cheap though. This one is $149

A little cheaper option are the ones made by Big Agnes. This one is $104

We have the Thermarest Camprest pads. They are something like 30 inches wide and 72 inches long and approximately 2 inches thick. They roll up small and are better than sleeping on the ground. We've also got some of those Big Cots from Sportsman's that work well in our 10x10 tent. We even use the camp pads in our camp trailer as the mattress in there sucks.

Thanks everybody who replied. We found a low-cost solution, hopefully it will be the final solution. You know how these things are . . .
