Russ and I were chatting after wheelin tonite that neither one of our CB's are tuned correctly. I am curious if anyone on here has the ability to adjust and tune Cb antenna's?

Your CB should come with a tuner.. I have one, I would assume it works with anyones CB

Bill, I have an SWR meter that we can tune your CB. I am free next Saturday in the afternoon. Bring the kids and they can play with Braedon and we can tune your radio. What antenna do you have? I sent a PM with my info.

If anyone needs an antenna tuned, I have a few SWR/power meters. A lot of times I even keep it packed in the XJ, so we could adjust it out on the trail too.

We got Bill's cb antenna tuned to his cb. After hooking up his cb to the swr meter, tuning it, and then disconnecting it, I looked at the cb and discovered that he has a swr tuning capability on his cb. Doh!!! Anyway it is done and seems to work well.

I need to get mine tuned. How much are those SWR meters? I'm way out in Safford and have two rigs to tune and a third eventually.

The JK used to be tuned up good, but for some reason it's not anymore. I had it tuned at a truck stop in California but the trails/trees/garage doors have taken their toll.

Radio Shack sells them. I can't remember the price but you should be able to look on their site for the price.

So I decide to mess with it and I have a Cobra Classic CB in the garage. Lucky me, it has an SWR meter built in. I check and tune and the best I can get is 3. I will need to replace my antenna and I knew it already, but this confirms it. The Cobra meter isn't nearly as good as the Radio Shack one, but it works to check out your system...

That is cool that it has the meter. Makes things a lot simplier to check.
