Movie Hatin' Thread

My don't waste your money contribution.
Feel free to add yours or tell me that you like horrible movies and hate America.

Squid in the Whale
Rotten Tomato Failure
Worst scene: library semen wipe

A Single Man
Another RTFU
Despite having gay undertones (sarcasm) the movie is a little depressing too (more sarcasm)

A Serious Man
Don't worry you won't feel much for the obscure j'actors especially since there is no resolve to any malformed story.

Lymelife
See above description but add real actors

Burn After Reading
I got Shyamalan'd on this one in the theater as the Cohen brothers tossed watchers their first FU (second would be the Serious title above).
Best scene would be Malkovich with the Axe but that could fit any of his roles

Norbit
Worst scene: Opening scene. We didn't make it much farther, walked out and got a refund

Zodiac Killer
Possibly the worst movie ever made. Jonathan rented because he mistook it for the other one. I'm more than a little sure that the soundtrack was whistled by one of the "actors." His punishment was watching it all the way through after trying to turn it off.

Firecracker (trailer)
So horrible and low budget, two of the stuttering actors actually had to play two of the other roles. A laughable movie right up until the wtf mutilation.

I'm told it was not Lymelife that was that bad but Gigantic.

They both had odd hunting scenes. I must have blocked it from my memory because I didn't want to shame Zooey.

Plot: A mattress salesman finds his plan to adopt a Chinese baby augmented by the arrival of a young woman, who comes into his workplace, falls asleep on one of the beds, and starts to affect his life upon waking up

Horrible Sofia Coppola, just horrible. Slowest movie ever with no Cinematography to even make that worth it. Shot almost in real time for no reason, you literally watch an entire ice skating recital, cooking macaroni and other mundane activities with no point, resolve, imagination, beauty, story, subplots, identifiable characters, development, scenery, or emotion.

C'mon. It's no Independence Day, but it was very watchable. Good CGI and lots of good humor. The story was good. the salute to the old soldiers was fantastic. I liked it.

It did have good special effects but they could have done a lot more with character development and other things. For example, who were the aliens, why did they come to earth? The characters were very 1 dimensional and cliched.

I thought Col. Greg Gadson the soldier with no legs in movie was the highlight of the film. I was surprised to see he was a real live Iraqi war vet who lost his legs to an IED.

Much like Independence Day, there was a moment when they removed the alien's helmet. The captian got a glimpse through the alien's eye, the planned destruction for Earth. YES. He could of elaborated a bit on their plans bit then it would be more of a comparison to Independence Day. Besides, the movie made it seem like we exterminated the aliens, so no real opportunity to interrogate.

I kinda like the basic premise of this movie. We reached out. A more advanced species found us. Now, they want to come and conquer us and settle on our planet. We fight and kick their ass.

Its very similar to what happened with the Native Americans and our westward movement. Except the Native Americans didn't win.

The movie also had many funny moments. :D

Carnage
DVD rental
Tries to prove a movie can be made in real time in just an apartment even if you don't have enough story just by making usually great actors overact.

To Rome With Love

Should have known, but it was a free rental.

3(?) unresolved unrelated stories. 2 of them not real thrown in with the "realer" one. 2 of them not making any sense who the characters even clearly were. Predictable, forced situations. Seemingly never ending. Three times the amount of dialogue needed. Woody Allen wrote his part like he was a stand up comic practicing to see what was funny and what wasn't.
