40K service requirements?
#1
I am 600 miles from reaching 40K on the odometer. Today I received an email from my dealer and a coupon for services. As far as I can see, the 30K was the big one. The 40K is just an oil change, tire rotation, and inspect the tranny/diff fluids.

My jeep is a daily driver. I've been on some light trails and have not "worked out" my Jeep at all. Do you think I should swap out the tranny and diff fluids?

Also, there is a lot of chatter about Amsoil synthetic oil. It looks like a lot of JK forum sites support this oil and say they only change their oil once a year (12K miles) when using the Amsoil AO oil filters. Has anyone here actually done this?

I have used and still do use the amsoil and filters great products change your air filter as well and if youve never had your transfercase lube done i would do that as well along with your diff fluids only gonna make your stuff last longer.Got a friend with a 97 TJ and has 300,000 miles on the engine and it still does not even smoke and he's still heavily wheelin it he also at every 100,000 miles puts the slick 50 in it and leaves it in it till the oil change, hope this helps.....T.C.

Do you buy your Amsoil locally? If so, where? I can't find a retail store that carries this product. I'm in Glendale.
