Impending doom- 54 F100

I want to touch it. Were any Marmots used in the creation of this masterpiece?

Just a quick update as there isn't much going on till after the new year.

The truck came home from the shop with the eng and trans in and they will be pulled back out soon so I can prep and paint the new parts and the fire wall.

I have some parts on order that have been back ordered since mid Oct. I call each week and its the same story.

Next on the list of the BIG FREAKING LIST OF STUFF TO DO... Brakes. I need all new hoses and hard lines. I also need a new master cyl.

I have been looking at paint and still have no clue as to what color I want.

Now for the good stuff. PICS!!!!

The new eng and trans mounts

Eng in

How it sits now

Paint it the color it is now?

Dark Blue?

I love both those colors... I think, it depends on what message you want the truck to get across when you're driving it. The original color says you have an awesome truck, kept mostly stock to the eye but underneath I"m a monster. The dark blue says you have an awesome truck inside and out, little more flashy. AND, I think it needs whitewalls.

Honestly Bob, if you are retaining the "original" look and being that it is a family heirloom and it means that much to you I would paint it the original color. All the mods and awesome work that have been done to this truck would make it even sweeter if it was the original color. I really dig this truck Bob! Congrats on the progress!! Just my .02

I also like both colors.

I have a brake line bender and flaring tool that you can borrow.

I still vote for finding a way to protect and clear coat the original patina the way it is. My second choice is original color.

looking sick, Bob. I love this.

Just to be clear the "original" color is white... or red... we aren't sure since there is so much paint on it and body parts from other year trucks.

There isn't much if anything original about this truck. But I do get what you are saying and like the logic behind it.

Exciting stuff Bob! I like the dark blue but you can't go wrong with any of your choices, including leaving it patina like Alan said. That thing is almost as Bad A as you are.

Update:

I have pulled 99% of the old crapy wire out.
We fixed up the brakes but need hard lines to finish the job.
I got rid of the 3 on the tree shifter.

Still so much work to do...

I need to spend some time with it this weekend and sand sand the fire wall... I want to look at buying a soda blaster... Just seems like it would be fun to use.

This has been dead in the water as I will not be using a credit card to build another project and I am out of cash.

I will be spending some time cleaning up around the truck this week. It funny how much crap can get tossed on a non running truck.
After I create some space I will be getting some small stuff like wire wheels to take some old paint and rust off.
I will also be redoing the front end with the new bolts I have and will be looking at a way to repair the cracks in the steering wheel. May even sand the dash. crazy I know.

Yay! Progress!

glad to see some progress man. i swapped my old 351c into my buddies grandpas 55f100 and its sweet. he did a tilt hood kit on it and that definitely changed the truck.

Its been way to long. With my Dodge paid off and my current repairs almost paid off, I want to start working on the F100 again.

The main list:

Brake hardlines
Put the new brake parts on
Service the rear axle
Get driveshaft built
Wire the truck (have the wire kit)
Move the gastank to under the bed
Headers
radiator

Mount the seat
