Well, got a solid day in today, the new axle arrived yesterday, so my plan was to have it sitting on the ground with no help of jack stands :) Had to do a little more work then was expecting to make everything work, but in the end It worked and I think looks great. James has a one off set of JK rims now..

Because of the very small hole the JK wheels have, they would not slide over the hub on the axle, so I went and bought at 2-5/8 hole-saw and went to work. Hoping that this would indeed work and I wouldn't have to call James with more bad news, I carefully drilled out all three wheels enough to slide over the hub and fit perfectly.

Here is how it sits right now, The fender is not attached, just sitting there as a mock up.

James brought his old spare tire carrier off his JK in-case I could use it, I liked the idea so I wanted to make it work.. was a tight fit, but all done I think it looks pretty cool.

Gotta get the fenders mounted, the tail lights mounted, and the tailgate finished. Anything other then that would be jerry can mounts if James wants me to still do them, in which case I need the brackets and that's pretty much in on my end.

Once I got the trailer back home, there were a couple of things I needed to do.

1. Put on a 2nd coat of Herculiner bedliner.
2. Make up some better straps to secure the Jerry can.
3. Clean and paint the Jerry cans.
4. Install two more tie-down hooks.

The inner trailer now has 3 coats of Herculiner.

Jerry cans - before and after.

New double adjustable side release buckles and strap retainers. Jerry can mounts/straps are completed.

Daniel had the wonderful idea of designing the tailgate to be removable. Very cool. However, the license plate was mounted to the tailgate! LOL. So, I had to relocate it. To cover up the original holes on the tailgate, I installed my 2nd Amendment plate.

Finally, the rear two tie-down hooks.

Now, just waiting for all the paint and bedliner to dry. It will probably take a week, due to the cold weather that is upon us. Ha ha.

Hey Michael. See what I see??? I see a near blank canvas (aka tailgate). We need to come up with some graphics to put on it! LOL.

Looks very nice! Only reason I put the plate on the tailgate is because I didn't think you'd ever pull it with the tailgate off lol

Ha! If there is a knob, I gotta twist it. If there is a removable tailgate, it's coming off. If nothing else, just to say I did it!
#33
I do think you need some HG4x4 graphics on it though :)
#34
Wow... Um, I have a knob... :-)
#35
Consider yourself warned, then. Don't stand so close to me. :)

great work Daniel! I like how you added the recesses in the front rail so the spare fits nice.
