I also liked Another Earth
Main actress = great
Dude actor = not so much
Extra: RT gave it 64%/68%

Good story. Wasn't really about the sci-fi but the timeline aspect was handled great unlike some "There is another dimension just like ours and everything is the same but not really" stories.

Seven Psychopaths

Dark Humor/Action

Awesome movie. I'd watch again and buy. Roles were perfectly cast.
Walken and Rockwell were great.

Primer

available on netflix
it's short, just over an hour
low budget independent film
not funny, no action
A complete mind f. I watched this over a month ago and I still find myself trying to wrap my brain around it.
I'm going to have to watch it again just to try and understand it.
there are websites that try to map out and explain the movie

...please watch this so you can help me try to figure out what happened?

LOVE that movie! It is a trip and a little hard to follow at times. The party and shotgun thing is what got me.
#10
good, maybe you can explain it to me.
#11
It's on Netflix? I'll watch it this week then!
#12
yep, add it to your instant queue.
#13
I feel like ive seen it before

or at least added it to my queue with the intent of watching

ill have to try it again and see if it looks familiar

Watched it with yellowsub tonight. Time travel is super hard for me to wrap my mind around.

I actually read this whole thing: http://qntm.org/primer
Much better but there's no way I could have postulated any of that on my own whatsoever.
#15
I'll save comments till Alan has watched it too.
#16
Watched it the other night, don't really know what to say about it lol

Since you mentioned a time travel movie, Timecrimes (Los Cronocrímenes) is on Netflix too. It's Spanish, has only 4 actors, and one review said "It was my favorite time travel movie until Looper came out." Take that with some salt and watch it. I enjoyed it.

Watched it last night. I was a little bored during the first half and found myself angry with the main character for being an idiot. The second half is much better watching how everything unravels. It leaves a few open questions at the end but was definitely worth watching. Thanks for the recommendation Michael.

I guess I had a couple Q's as well so thanks for watching it :).

One of mine seemed to echo what others asked about the origin/start of the process if II drove I to it. But then, we never saw that progression so we don't know what actually did besides the turning on of the machine.

Clearly the sirens signify that a call was placed to try to put an end to the constant reproductions and should end it. I don't know if they have shelf lives or how they resolve the samsies. It may be best they clip the beginning and the end to allow the story to go the way the author wants us to see it.

I'm not sure if II (III) kept to the script making sure his actions mimicked what he saw himself do to himself because of a fate is fate stance or what. (arm stab, binoc eyes, and red fall)

I kept thinking, do the "murder yourself's self" route (as prescribed by Nick Jays Hamburgers http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UeCX3L8glFk time loop scenario) the whole time.

In fact as I drifted off to sleep that night, I mumbled to Noel, "Promise me if you see your clone, you'll murder it first thing, before it can do the same to you." She promised.

Of course there is also the other side of the "to murder yourself or not murder yourself" coin: http://www.cracked.com/blog/human-clones-do-you-fk-or-fight/
