Daily Driver Troubles
#1
So about 3 months ago I got in an accident with my dd 03 be jetta. It took all the impact to the suspension. So far I have replace the following: inner and outer tie rods on the passenger side, passenger control arm, entire sub frame because it was twisted, and springs all the way around. Ever since the accident and replacing all of the parts the car wonders all over the road to the point that the car is unsafe to drive. All of the impact was on the passenger side. I do notice that the passenger side ball joint has a slight amount of play to it, otherwise I see no other problems. My question is could that ball joint be causing the problem or could it be something else I am over looking. I need my car to be drive able! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would say yes, a ball joint could cause that to happen. You're ball joints are the ONLY thing attaching your hub to the rest of the car. If that's lose, you're wheel can move in directions it shouldn't.

Actually after some driving and thinking and talking to Geoff we narrowed it down to my rack being bad from the accident. I do have a ball joint on the way for rock auto and am pick up a rack tomorrow. The rack moves normal when sitting still with the car running and turning back an forth, but as soon as the car is in motion the rack has a lot of play.
