Thursday (3-8 ) about 10:30pm I'm getting ready to turn in, as I'm locking the garage door I hear a pounding / banging noise as if someone was messing with my trash can, then it dawned on me my trash can wasn't out side!! So gun in had I run out the door, only to see a big-large hispanic get into a town-car parked in front of my house, I can see the passenger side front window on my durango is broken & the car peels out & probably hit 80mph by the time they got to the end of the street, I took aim... but I knew better than to shoot. Car took off with lights off couldn't get a plate just a grey - silver town car. Heart was pounding, controlled my breathing & didn't have any tunnel vision when I drew & aimed, again knew better than to shoot as my life was not in danger & knowing my target & beyond (nothing but houses) I'd be lying if I said I didn't want to take out his rear window, but again knowing better...

Then Monday night... notice alot of police driving down my street, walk out side and now a helichopter, then finally fire Dept rolled all kinds of comotion on the other side of the wash but on the same street, helechopter ends up being MedEvac & after talking to neighbors, new renters moved in about 3weeks ago, ended up having someone from there past follow / find them, 3 pops alot of screaming & 3 more pops neighbor see's body on sidewalk. (as of now I dont know the condition of the victim) but there were 2 gunmen at large last night & as far as know still are...
Tuesday (today)
Left work a few minutes later then I wanted to, traffic sucks (my commute is now El Mirage to Gilbert) So get on the 60 & head towards Phx. when I got to the 60 & I-10 I noticed alot of smoke - dirt & debris in the air along the wall next to the HOV lane, most traffic had come to a crawl & or stopped, me thinking someones car is on fire weaved in & out of traffic to find a Dodge Charger against the wall & STILL GOING!!! So turned on the emergency flasher I installed for the Ragnar race & flagged people to let me in.
I got along side the car now doing about 45-50mph, there are sparks, smoke, car & road debris all over the place, even I'm getting hit by stuff. The driver an elderly male is at the wheel awake but unresponsive, I try using my PA to yell at him... nothing, Now my thoughts now move to "okay I'm going to stay beside him till DPS shows up & just in-case he bounces off the wall or comes to and tries to cut across the I-10 I'm gonna keep him here & against the wall" Just as we come to University the driver comes to, looks over at me I flag him to stop, he does, then rolls down his window I ask him to put it in park & to turn off the car & then asked for his keys, all this I'm still on the phone with DPS dispatch, ask the guy if he has any medical problems & he said yes I'm a diabetic. About that time DPS showed up, I pass the keys to the officer, He checks on him & gets him from the car does a quick eye DUI test then fire showed up, test him & his blood sugar was 34. after DPS got people's info I headed away.
A friend of mine said it best, "That's Gods work putting you there" I was prepared to sacrifice myself & the XJ to keep others from getting hurt. The driver was okay & transported to a local hospital he thanked me several times for helping.

Hearing that car grind against the wall, 2 flat tires dragging the undercarriage even the inside of the car was filling with smoke, that has to be the worst sound Ive heard in a long time and one I don't want to hear anytime soon.
(Other witnesses said he was doing 90, hit the wall at Elliot & stayed against that wall till he stopped)
I hope the rest of this week is un-eventful! Ive meet my quota for adrenaline doses this month!
