Post up your own storm and lightning pics here

Well didnt get any rain here but did see quite the light show, So I bail out on the family & head NW to a spot Ive taken a liking to, north of SpeedWorld on the US-60.
End up driving right into the storm lots of rain & wind was 8| thought I was gonna roll at one point as it pushed me off the road & onto the shoulder.
Got out of that & behind the storm and took what I could for pics... :eyeroll:


Changed over to the fish eye to get all that I could...






Caught a train too

Ended up going storm chasing with Scoob last night. Kinda hard to get in front of it and didn't get anything worth much. After both chasing it around separately we met up in the desert and watched it from afar. Was still fun to get away.

I did find a rare cloudyphant though. It just happened to position itself for the moon to be its eye.

I took a little extra time on the way in and STOPPED for about 10min... thats all I got

Phew. I thought I saw the foreground had a little motion blur. Plus the horizon looked about right for a car seat slant :lol:

Looks like I got two "acceptible" strikes that night. You are way ahead of me this summer :(;)





I found I liked these better. Probably just bec they came with the fancy frame ;)

Great lightning show tonight... too bad I didnt take my camera with me when I drove to Arrowhead to swap out my iPhone :(

Not HDR but enough work was done on it to call it a composite

Didn't have but 5min to set up and take these simples before I got drenched







I then drove down Olive til it hit the desert. I couldn't out run the storm so I waited until it was over, shot the mountain and left.

I got only sprinkles at the house. I did however get two calls from people asking how come I wasn't out trying to get lightning pics. You two were almost responsible for my death thank you.
I drove out to make the nagging voices stop. It was still raining so I had to get under the poncho with the camera. I was wondering what all the bright flashes I was missing were. At least they missed me too.
The lightning was so close I had no idea which direction to shoot and the closer the strike, the brighter the shot.

WOW!!! I think I would of pee'd myself being that close! great shots!!!

I was trying hard to be shorter than the cactus :)=)
