jeep security
#1
I was reading fatbobs post over on virtualjeepclub and he was talking about how someone had their entire rear axle stolen out of their XJ while they were shopping in walmart.

This got me thinking more about the security in the jeep. Ive had my stereo stolen and had my moms purse stolen out of it in the last few years. I know J had his wallet and credit card stolen.

I have the basic security measures like an alarm with kill switch and the tuffy center and dash console.

I also have some small cable locks on my spare tire and doors. I realize they can be cut but I figure the more trouble it is for someone to steal it the less likely they are to mess with it.

The only thing I dont have locked up right now is my hood. I saw the basic hood locks from Quadratec but from what Ive read they aren't very realiable. I read of people popping them open with a screw driver.

Im thinking about making something simmilar to a hood pin style with a lock on it. Any ideas?

The guy that installed my alarm is a friend of mine and he told me to get the alarm button that goes on the hood. When someone pops the hood with the alarm activated it goes off. It is like a $5 part, I just need to go out and get it.

Yeah, I actually have that part in my botomless bucket of parts.

It's yours for $4 : )

Oh yeah, is it an easy part to install?

Drill a hole.

You will have to have the wire that plugs into the alarm.

Well ok then.
