Were keeping this quiet from Jen so it'll be a surprise.

Zach is being discharged from the Army early due to weight, some health issues & a jerk of a 1st Sgt for the last 2 years has ran its course.
At 1st it looked like his final day was to be 2 days shy of his 3yr date (that would screw him out of full G.I. Bill & other benefits) however by using his leave & not selling it back to the Army it will put him 16 days past his 3yr date & he'll get his full benefits! and PX - Commissary access till Sept of 2015!
Sucks that the Army has done this but with the budget cut backs they also cut solders too, My mother in law will fly to NY to help him drive back (his wife cant get a DL <- think there's more to this story than I'm being told) they plan to be on the road for about a week and this will put Zach home before his 21st Birthday on Aug 20th.

Bummer he's getting discharged, but if he gets full bens than rock on.

I forgot to mention it IS an Honorable Discharge!!
We were worried it would end up being a medical or other than honorable.

At 11pm AZ time Zach, his wife & my mother in law departed Fort Drum heading for home!
I hopped on Jens face book & blocked her mom, Zach & his wife as they'll be posting stuff along the way. We're trying very hard to keep this hush & surprise her :)

Over 2800 miles, eleven states, a car accident, from upstate New York to Phoenix in 67 hours.

Zach is now home, Surprised Jen was hard keeping this quiet for so long but it paid off
