Hey guys... I've been kinda quiet since the Cortez race because there was one more Dirt Riot race (that happened this weekend) that could have impacted the points... that race has come and gone. WE HAVE WON THE MODIFIED STOCK DIRT RIOT NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP AGAIN!
Last year we won the Southwest Series and the National Championship, plus we won the All Star race in Texas in dramatic tire shredding fashion.
This year, we won the Southwest Series and the National Championship AGAIN! Next Dirt Riot race is the All Star race in Texas in October. Chris Brewer is suiting up as the co-driver for that race with me. Time for Chris to develop a taste for mud. ;-)
Thank you all. Hammers is awesome and a time that is very special. There are some really amazing things going on for this year's KOH that I can share in a couple more weeks, but winning championships takes consistent performance and the willingness to go where the races are. We raced in Colorado Springs (14 hour drive), Cortez (9 hour drive), and Cedar City (10 hour drive) this year. We went head to head with some great competition and were on the podium every single race. We finished 1st in Colorado Springs and Congress and finished 3rd in Cedar City and Cortez. Both 3rd place finished included mechanical issues during the race that we overcame and then overtook other cars in front of us.
I'm so proud of the car that you all helped build and the teams that have been there to support it during all the races. We are going to be racing the Ultra4 Nationals in Vegas at the end of September. Two straights years of Dirt Riot domination (the entire team ended up on the national podium with Andrew 3rd in his class and Sally 3rd in his class) has prepared us for 2014, where we are stepping up to the Ultra4 stage. Next year will include at least 3 Ultra4 races, plus KOH and the race team is going to take a crack at the Baja 500 (racing Andrew's car but changing out driver teams throughout the race).
Anyway... pretty stoked and I wanted to say thank you. I know the time we've all spent (both building the rig originally and then listening to me rattle on about "racing this" and "racing that" pretty much non-stop). Racing is a passion and it means a lot to me. I couldn't do it without everyone's support... especially family... and you guys are family.
Thank you.
AJ
