People Sadden me

My daughter was in a car accident on the way home from church on the 24th. She and my son were not hurt but her car i damaged. She is trying to buy this car herself, I bought it for $2K and she is paying for it. It is a great car we got from a friend and is .....was in great shape, 1995 Suzuki Sidekick 4dr 4x4......the other car hit her in the front fender and slid down the side smashing in both door and the rear just in front of the tire.....then they took off, never even check to see if any one was hurt. They are both ok, but now the car she was working so hard for is damaged, drivable, but.......damaged. How can people do this, we assume it was a kid and affraid to stop or was joyriding someone elses or a stolen car, witness said it was a newer Honda accord. Police said don't expect to ever see anything of them, they will prolly never be caught........

..... The 52 year old woman lives a few blocks from us and turned it in to her insurance company.....>>>>>????????

Well, Cait got home tonight and found a notice from the Mesa Police department that they have the other vehicle in the Hit and Run case and gave me all her info and .......Believe this....HER INSURANCE INFO!!!!!!!!!

Is God amazing or what!!!!!!

Her insurance does not want to "claim" fault yet but since it was a hit and run, they are automatically liable from what I understand, the adjuster is supposed to contact me soon!!!

Thanks, just had to tell it!!!

WOW!!! You never get to hear a story like that that ends in a good way. I am so glad that your kids are ok and everything will turn out ok.

That's awesome.

Im suprised the lady turned it in to her insurance after she left the scene of the accident

Im guessing she was in shock and wasnt thinking straight after she hit her so she ran home then realized what happened and reported it

Its good that everything will work out!

I was thinking more that she was drunk but I am having trouble with her insurance not talking to me. She is on Met-Life

I am a strong believer in all Insurance companies stink. I have had problems with some car insurance, they will go around in circles untill you give up.

Just stand your ground and they will eventually fold.

I am so glad to hear everyone was ok though.

The insurance company just called, they have agreed to accept 100% liability with NO fight from me and have determined it to be a total loss and have turned it to a loss adjuster for an valuation of the car and determination of payment. They have been advised that we are interested in buy back so we should hear something tomorrow or monday. They are also issuing a check for $180 for loss of use and expenses for a few days. So far, since the first fight with them, they have been really cool about it and have not jerked me around, now I just have to wait to see what they offer and what they want for the salvage. I have searched on line and this model and year of car with the 1.6 16v auto is selling for over book, it helps that it has low miles for the year also. More as the drama unfolds!!!
