Found Object - Help Identify?
#1
Recently, while out gathering wood for my campfire, I came upon a dead tree well off trail.
It was large and solidly grounded but kindle could easily be splintered off.
While pulling pieces away, a metal object inside caught my eye. I at first thought it was a bullet and levered my pocket knife into the splintered crack I had formed to see it better. It was longer than a bullet, some sort of an arrow?
I really had to jab into the tree since the piece would not break free but my curiosity needed to see the object in its entirety.
I finally levered the object out letting the wooden gap close back.

This is the golden object I pulled out. It does not stick to magnets.

There is ornate detail on the top hollow cylinder. I do not believe the end to unscrew.

WHAT IS IT and how did it get in there?

Update. I gave it to a jeweler friend to inspect. It is 18k. He was able to pry the cap off. He took it off and I got a text saying it looks like there are ashes inside.
Later he had a friend (he couldn't bring himself to do it) inspect the contents and they decided it was incense, by the smell and believe it or not, they had some relative remains at the store they were supposed to take hiking to different places to disperse they compared the powder to.
But also inside is a thin sheet of coiled gold soldered into the closed end.

So it would appear it is some sort of mystic artifact placed there at some point by someone. No guesses on date.

What's also pretty wild is that before I even contacted him, he had seen my post about it on reddit.com/r/whatisthisthing/ but of course didn't know it was me until I texted him the photo.
Small world.

tabeez seems correct and fits with the incense being inside

That is looking to be true. Islamic Black magic.
Kevin's dissecting it further at lunch

It's official I may be cursed. Although I did have this in my cupholder when the spotlights couldn't find me Thursday night...
Either way, someone should probably check in on me for the next few days :)

Mike was playing cowboys and indians ... the indians no longer have bowes and arrows.

Did you guys play German Spotlight here or was that just a south thing?
That's what Thurs entailed. Except what Bob said and with Ford trucks.

Here you go!

Ajith Aravind --- Yes Chris. Its Hindu only. Many of us wear a tabeez(an indian locket) where the priest from the temple inscribe our star (sun sign) details inside it. I do have one. I believe someone lost it in the forest while trekking or something. I am not sure about the language, guessing it must be Sanskrit.

Wow awesome work. Thanks!
Now I can make the guy on the Hike forum stop with all the, "It's Jewish ashes, you must take them back immediately," stuff.
