I know when we did the party a few years ago, it made my wife feel 100% better and more safe with that many people in the house to have a life guard who just sat outside and watched the pool.
Also (Chris) - do we have a rough head count of attendees total yet?

My son will be 9 and swims on a swim team. Not worried about him around water. He swims like a fish.

Yes, the wife and kids are coming. They're under 12 and we have a pool, not concerned.

I appreciate everyone having kids that can swim... it's more about my wife's concern that an accident (and by nature, accidents are unexpected things that shouldn't happen) might occur. If $40 for a guy to sit by the pool and make sure no accidents happen makes her relax and enjoy the party, then it's $40 well spent in my opinion, trust me. LOL.
