Sunflower Mine
#1
Been a long time since I've ran this trail, in my absence they took all the cool stuff out :/ Still an awesome canyon to drive, and it's a little more fun (harder) plus with the fog and rain yesterday made it extra cool. Unfortunately we couldn't do the whole loop as it got to rough for the 4runner with us. So we definitely need to go back with the Jeeps before it gets too hot.

This was right above the mine on the narrow road that goes down to it.. wet, soft, washed out, and steep incline. I drove it with some speed and was fine, but the 4runner hit it a little too slow I think and his front end dived towards the cliff. Tried to back out on his own and slid further.. so the taco strapped him back. They just stayed up top while I continued down.

This is the point where the 4runner decided to not to continue on..

That was a fun run. Would love to head out and camp then run the trail the next day.

Yes. would be an awesome time for sure. Enough room we could camp down at the mine if we wanted.....

looked like fun - just makes me sad that all the building and that truck are gone now. history lost forever

Oldie favorite, especially when wet and the creek is running.

Nice shots with that overcast light, Daniel.

Nice pics as always. My friends and I went there 2 years ago. Definitely, it is a great place for some wheeling.
