Annual BBQ
#1
What do you think about starting up an annual bbq at one of the public parks for us? I thought it would be a great invite, meet and greet type deal. We could have it over at Saghuaro Ranch Park in the pavillions or someplace else. I was hoping for a spot that had a large enough area for the jeeps to park along with playground equipment for kids and things for everyone else to do

We could invite people from the VJC and 4x4him along too. Maybe make it a bring your own drink and appetizer event? We could supply the burgers and hotdogs

I've been wanting to do that since the paper route days.
That and the Jeep car wash :))
#3
what month? Should we wait till its cooler?
#4
You do see more Jeeps out in the summer, but it might be too hot to stand still for longer than a red light.

you could do it at Indian Steel park on Central and Indian school the park is so cool and there is brand new play ground stuff and a lake for fishing.

Maybe if we plan in advance people wouldn't mind driving to a park in Payson, Prescott or somewhere cooler thats only an hour or so away. We could always have some place to meet and then have a jeep parade for whoever wants to go.

I would love to do something like that. Let me know what I can do to help plan.

Sounds good, I'm in. We'll see about finally getting a Jeep wash together this year!!!

Unfortunately it'd most likely have to be on home turf. Strangers would be less apt to drive out. Too hard to organize and coordinate since we are youngsters in the world of clubs
#10
We know enough people that are involved with other clubs that would be happy to help us promote and get a few people out there.
#11
I would push for people to show up!!!!

We have a lot going right now and truly, I would rather see it go off as things cool a bit, being a redhead and all, i don't get along with the sun real good!!!!

I am in several clubs tho and I would help pus an HG4x4 Picnic

prescott area would be cool, but wonder how many would make the drive up there?

if we do it locally, it seems like we would need to wait until septober
#13
Why not do a night BBQ?
#14
we could but might be fun to do a run after lunch?

If we had it in prescott area Im sure theres some easy 3.0 trails out there we could do

I wouldnt want to have the bbq in a remote spot at all. Would be alot better someplace people can get to easily

I think if the idea is to get people to come out and meet everyone doing a run/bbq might not work for most people. They would most likely show up for a BBQ to get know everyone but if it was a run too they might feel Intimidated to go out. Just a thought.....

I am all for having it local so some more of the local can come. I think we might have to wait till it cools off a little but the problem with that is Jen is going to be showing a little more baby belly in Septober. So it really dosent matter to me when we have it, just as long as we do have it not just talk about it.

What, am I like not aloud to leave the house due to being embarrasingly big in Septober?

So we have to buy a few extra packs of hotsdogs for me. I don't think its too big of a price to pay to have my company there.

You're good to go to the BBQ no matter.
I even like the idea of hooking a sponge to your belly so you and our new member can help out at the car wash.
