Flyin XJ... THIS I got to see!!!

you know, like THIS!

They have stock amatuer class... i would LOVE to eventually get into Baja/Desert racing. They have several 200 and 400 mile rally events during the year. There is a team based here in Phoenix that is looking for volunteer pit crew members. I e-mailed them yesterday about getting on the crew for 2008 and getting exposure and learning the ropes at these races. PM me if you are interested. I don't want to hijack the board for this, but it's pretty cool and who doesn't love "racin"?!?!?! :))

They guys are putting an entry in the APS parade of lights and it needs to be finished this weekend... figured we could lend a hand. (You don't happen to have a small generator, do you? Something small and not too loud that will run a bunch of Christmas lights?)

I'm sending you the Google placement map

At the end of the trail there is a loop.
On the NE end there is a hiking trail down.
At the SW end there is a gate that was open. Not the one with the NO TRESPASSING sign. Drive along the fence until you see it. That will allow you to drive right down to the Verde (a little over a mile). 4x4 will be needed and I aired down my tires at the bottom b/c I was alone and it was really sandy down there. So in retrospect I would have aired down at the beginning of the trip and saved a little jarring from the small bumps in the road.

You'll see plenty of roads that drive out to the left before you get to the end. Almost all take you to a vista point. The one I marked had a smaller incline that allowed me to strap all my camping gear on and hike down to the river. That road was not marked on my GPS but had a marker

At the end of that trail, I hiked directly W down into the stream (dry) and followed it down some waterfalls (dry) to the river (wet).

I saw the train at 1pm and 5pm

Fun little hill near beginning with a view and this omnious art form

Just read up on the lights, Had I seen it sooner I could of grabbed a generator.
the only way my XJ will fly is when it rolls off a cliff O_O

So knowing my issues going up hills Im gonna guess it will take us 2 - 3 hrs to get to CottonWood.
So any suggestions on a start time? and or anyone else who wants to join us?

I want to join you, but I have work on Sat.
I think you're only looking at 2hrs to Tuzigoot Rd

Sorry you have to work but I do appericate you sharing the info on how to get there!

I also have my CO2 setup!!! so no more looking for a gas station and/or spending $10 worth of quarters to fill the tires :)

and this is the place where I to publicly admit that I bowed to the home pressure's and bailed on my brother, last minute. I apologize and accept public shame for leaving a brother high and dry like that.

I am sorry, Paul. Did you go any way and (if so) how was the trip?

Naw we stayed home & held down the couch.
Although Ive gone out many times by myself, After the Incident at lake Pleasent I rather not go alone to remote areas unless there is another party with me.

So that being said lets pray for some snow fall up north & then maybe we could plan a trip up north for the kids (old & young) to play in the snow.
