Thinking of selling my....

M101 trailer

Its been sitting on my side yard for about 2 years now and I have yet to start working on it. I do have alot of things Id like to do with it, but I havent had the cash.

I was thinking of selling it and buying a welder instead. Then building my own trailer. I was thinking I could build one that fits my needs a little bit easier rather then converting the m101.

If I was to build my own I will also need to pick up a tube bender and find a good source for round and square tubing. Id also need someone to teach me how to weld.

I can see how learning to weld as a skill would help out in the long run for future mods for the jeep but I dont know if I want to give up my m101. It was kind of a big deal for me to finally get one.

From what a welding friend of mine told me, with the price of steel, you won't come out ahead building instead of buying. His trailer cost him more to build.

What kind of trailer are you planning? Hauling or Hauler?

Id like to build a small utility trailer that I can pull behind the jeep but Id also like to make it into a camp trailer as well

I was thinking of some sort of combo hauler/teardrop design. It would be alot of fun to build and design

Yeah there are some pretty cool designs out there. There was a thread I belive in Pirate4x4.com about a guy that made his own. If I can find it I will link it up later. I can't get in to that site from work.
