Get a ham radio. You can listen to air traffic, ham bands, and police/fire.

Scanner would be cheaper, no class, license, or over done rules, no desire to talk back.

I watched it on Break.com before he died. It was up on their front page, then they took it down when he passed.
It didn't look like he was ok.

I just talked to Joe and they're starting on my rig.
