I get the floral place's flowers out of the dumpster at work and bring them home.

Found out yesterday afternoon from a Face Book post that our son (Zach) yes the one who's in the Army is now engaged to be married on 12/28/10
Now were all VERY proud of him & his decision to join the Army... however this decision to marry a gal he meet at MEPS 1 day before he left for basic, there relationship has been 3months via letters & weekly 10min phone calls.
Now Zach did talk to me about wanting to marry her & I did say we'd stand behind his decision BUT I also said this is way too soon and I think you should slow it down...
But he went ahead & proposed, So its rough enough having one leave the nest... but knowing Ill soon have a daughter-in-law is wow, then IF they have kids... that would make me...

Sorry to rant on, but just having a hell of a time wrapping my head around all of this.

wow that was quick engagement, maybe they can postpone until 6 months? say you dont have time to plan for a wedding that fast?

I agree its super quick... but he's got her doing all the leg work because he cant and when hes here they'll finish up the final stuff and then hitch up :( But she ships off to basic in January, so thats there "rush"

so a 3 day honeymoon and then they don't see each other for 3 months?

She plans to do MP as well and thats all in one shot, (basic & AIT) so that be 5 months away, and Zach got his orders, he'll be in Ft. Drum starting Jan 23rd till the Army moves him else where

Sorry, jokes are all I know! But in all seriousness, seeing as Zach and I are the same age I honestly cannot see where his logic is coming from. Sure lets say he's lucky and found "the one" early in life, but even still I agree it is extremely rushed. Young love is dumb love!

Yeah I've been down that road... was engaged for a while at way to young of an age. All ended horribly (thankful for that now) Hope he catches on...

I proposed to Linda 4 wks after our first date, which was a night run near Spencer, AZ, we got married the following Friday in Vegas and honeymooned at gold claim outside of Prescott for 2 nights.

I want to like the winter holidays. I just don't. I try to make it all festive with lights all over the house and fires in the fire pit. I even cut down my own tree... As fun as these things can be I loathe this time of year.
