Do, or do not... there is no try.

Speaking from experience - you have to decide "yes" NOW and then spend the next year saving money, modifying your rig, fighting off other priorities, angering your wife by being gone on Mother's Day, and making this the most important thing in your life that you talk about, make animated videos about, and obsess about for a year.

It's worth it.

Its not cheap... I like to go for 7-9 days. You lose two days driving up and back. People can camp or hotel or rent a house/condo for the week. Its up to you on that.
I camp. If you can call it that with wifi pool hot shower. and its $30 a night

Look at the Moab 09 links for some good info.

hmm.. sounds extreamly expensive.. lol hope I get another good job soon. Anyone want to go in with me? all I need is a couch and a shower haha

It's not too bad, but it is a Major Trip. Gas was a couple of hundred. Camping was a couple hundred. Food was a couple hundred. My suggestion last year, and I'll make it again... put away $50 (I don't care how or where) each pay period, so you save a $100 a month (put it in jar as cash along with pictures of Moab so you'll LEAVE IT ALONE - if it's in your checking account it will go to bill and stuff). Sell stuff. Prostitute yourself. I don't care, but put that money in a jar, and a year from now, you'll have $1,200 for Moab and you'll enjoy yourself and not worry about the money.

22 bucks but we can fit 2 or 3 tents on the camp spot. I am going to ask for the same spot again.

Yeah that was really a great campground, liked being in the corner and having it secluded

having the gas station, grocery and food within walking distance was great

We spent a total of $377.74 for 2 people from Wed-Sun
Dining $121.21
Lodging $74.15
Gas $179.79
Moab Sticker $2.59

That doesn't include our groceries/snacks we got for the trip. We made sandwiches for lunches and went out to eat each night. You could definitely save money on the dinners.

Thats impressive ^^ cheap. How long does it take to get up there? (hours)

Just giving you a hard time, skippy. It's an Act of God you were able to pull off this year, so with another year to plan and save, you will be superman, my friend.
