Terrible pic, but best I can do tonight. It needs some TLC, but it'll do.

nice! looks like it already has some stuff done to it

Nice. I have a Heep too. Just in the shop for the time being and then to be torn apart and rebuilt from the frame up.

Clayton long arms up front, coil conversion in back, sliders, roof rack..

It needs tires badly as the current ones are cupped real bad. Couple of the doors don't lock for some reason, the brakes need looked at, and it's got a weird howl noise I think is coming the front end. That's all I've found just driving it home lol but, it drives good, and the amount of money in the suspension makes it worth it.

Chris, how much for your wheels/tires? I might just by spacers/adapters.. I really like the Rubicon wheels.

I have them on craigslist and the crawler facebook page for $275 for 5 of them

1 tires brand new, others are worn but probably have 10-15k more miles left

If you want them Id come down to $235

Sold

Well, here it is.. 97 XJ with 178k on the clock. The 4.0 motor has been replaced, mileage is unknown. I traded the blue Tahoe to Army Mike (Bradley) for it.

Here's what it has,

Clayton long arms up front
Rustys rear coil conversion out back.
Belly skid
Off road bumpers front and back
Roof rack
Rock sliders
Bushwhacker fender flares

Here's what it needs..

Front suspension is cupping the tires.. need to figure out what is causing it, then buy new tires.
Brakes.. jeep lunges when applying brakes... I think it's the back drums.
Couple of the doors will not lock, no matter what I do. Need to pull door panels and figure out why.
Exhaust leak needs fixed
Fender flares need to come off, because I can't stand the site of them.

Wants...

Matts D-30 with a locker.
Locker for rear, and gears to match front.
CB
Rubicon wheels
Gas tank skid
Different tail lights.

That's all I really know of right now. I haven't really looked at it much, work is crazy busy and I"m trying to get things ready for KOH. So it'll sit until after KOH when I have time to tear into it. It runs, it drives down the road, and although it's not a CJ like I wanted I am very excited to have a Jeep again. My trips this year will be limited to pretty much just KOH, but I hope next year we can plan a Rubicon trip or at least go to Moab or something. :)

Nice set up. Would the cupping of the tires be caused by ball joints being worn?

It's possible.

Awesome!
Rubicon 2025 here we come
#17
Nice score! The axle is here when you're ready for it.

What size tires are those? I would suggest rotating the tires and getting an alignment. Could just be cupping bcz they weren't rotated regularly.

Will you loose horsepower if you get rid of those tail lights?
#18
I think the tires are 32s.. I'd have to confirm that though. If/when I buy new tires, I'll probably go with 33s or maaaybe 35s... dunno.

I thought about rotating, but was worried that I'd end up just ruining more lol I did a quick check of the other tires, and the only one that I've found that is really bad is the driver front. The passenger front is a KM2, and seems fine and the back ones seem fine.

I will sacrifice a couple HP to loose those lights :) I'm thinking these....

Well. That makes it HG4x4 official, then. Mixed set? You're in.

Really happy for you. I loved my XJ and had many great trips in it (Moab 09 comes to mind). I'm excited about the Rubicon 2037 trip too, Bob! So much planning to do!

On a "jeep club" related note, my car fired up and ran today. I'm 9 days away from being in the land of the 4x4 living again. BOY what a long 5 months it has been...

So... I propose a Spare Tire Canyon trip once every one is driveable.
I'd rate it as scenic-ish even for a Rubicon. Met Broken Taillight Matt on it. Avis had Red 1 standing by on it.
