It's true and sad. If you go to catch fish you're doing it for the wrong reasons and you'll be disapointed. The Verde between Horshoe and Bartlett used to be decent for catfish. Can't really access it anymore with the 42 gone }:(

I just had to lay off four people yesterday and it was really, really hard.

One of them (the one with a sick 5 year old daughter who just bought a house last month...), said "I know you believe in the same God I do. I know you believe He's in charge and will take care of us. Will you pray with me before I go?" So right in the middle of my office, we knelt down and prayed. Her unshakable faith in God really touched and encouraged me.

It was a really, really hard day. I try to do it with as much grace and compassion as possible, but it's still a hard thing to lay people off and know they don't have a job tomorrow.

I keep picturing all those sad movies where the Dad comes home too early and tells the family he lost his job and they all cry and hug and promise everything will be Ok... <sigh>

That is all. Sorry for the downer post.

Sorry to hear you have to deal with that kind of stuff... it seems to be a common topic and something that is happening more frequently than not. It is good to have faith... especially with everything that is going on these days.

I started my own company that I run at night mostly because of the economy. I am fearful everyday of what will happen with the economy and / or my daily job. I run a Commercial Electrical Company during the day as a Controller... I run A/P, A/R, H/R, etc. I have dealt with well over 20 layoffs in the last 6 months alone. I was personally given the decision to go part time or be laid off about a month ago. I took the part time offer but have managed to hold on to a full time position to date. :)=) I come in every Monday expecting to be told to make it a "short week" I try to stay positive and keep the Faith though that things will work out... it is much harder to convince the wife who stays home with my children so I can relate to many stories out there.

On a good note though... I think this situation we are in as a country with the recession and the "easy times" being a thing of the past is good for all of us honestly. This is tough to swallow for some... but I know it has woken my family up to the things in life that are important. This country is so caught up in "things"... caught up in someones worth being judged by what they wear, what they drive, or where they live.

Have a great day! Brian
