I just became the Event Coordinator for Rockfest 09 on for the AZ chapter of NAXJA. Evidently, they had some trouble getting organized, liked some of my suggestions from my (short lived) Vice Presidential run, and want me (along with Kraker) to organize Rockfest.

I accepted.

Pretty cool.

Um... Geoff. Paul. Virgil. Whatcha guys doin' this spring? :)=)

YES! It's "supposed" to be the "huge" annual event in Arizona for all the NAXJA members in the state and surrounding states (CA, NM, CO, TX) to come wheel for four days. Raffle tickets for prizes, different trail each day, etc... a smaller, organized version of the Moab trip so people can experience AZ wheelin'. What it turns into is the same 15 - 20 showing up and wheeling for 4 days, so they wanted to make it "bigger" and actually draw in other states NAXJA members. Target is 40 participants this year. Geoff went last year, I was working. I can go this year. We'll need video and pics (plus t-shirts, stickers, hats, etc...). :cool)

Once we have another meeting next week, I may be tapping Mike for some of his hook up and resources when it comes to printing and shirts and try to drive some business his way.

Let me know. I'll help if I can.

Alan you have my # give me a call :)g)

Will do, buddy. This is my first time organizing an even this big, so let me get some details, but I want to involve manay aspects of wheelin (from HAM, to recovery, to trail etiquette, to vehicle safety, to just straight up wheelin'... ) and create "serious rock crawler" events, along with family friendly events on the weekend portion to allow for everyone to participate in some fashion or another.

Should be fun. Getting pretty excited.

Lucy is happy too. :)=)

...scheduled my surgery for Jan. 27th. They are doing a ground up rebuild on me. I will be taking pictures and doing a write up on it. Ok, only the first sentence is true.

Congrats Bob, I look forward to seeing your build thread. Your rig is going to be awesome. More effort, time, money required, but the end result will be worth it!

Alan, we need to speak in the next month also. I'm going to be at home for recovery approximately a week. I think I'll still be able to use the computer/phone, so if there is any NAXJA legwork I can help with, I'm your man. If I don't have something to do during that time, I'm going to go crazy.

I just got a confirmation that my comp is being built. Went with some one else with Chris's help just to stick it to Dell. When it gets here, I plan on getting our Anaconda and Rattlesnake run up on the main page. It's also time for a new Vehicle of the month.

...just printed 200 6 page chain letters.
The old man who "knows it's a crock of *&^%" is doing it for his wife.
She's had several strokes and she doesn't get to do much, but he knows she enjoys mailing letters. So it's worth it to him to spend $100 on prints and stamps to give her something that she can do and makes her happy.
