Suck down winch is now fully armed and operational with in-cab control. yeah!

Chris - it's a NV4500 Tranny. Some interesting reading on the web. Some good, some bad. Seemed to be a mid 90's herd mentality fad that faded due to expense of the Tranny and upkeep.

oops! fixed it. hadn't had my coffee yet this morning. I've changed it to "NOW" fully armed and operational. Suck down winch is a go (not to be confused with a suck down wench which is definately not an approved item on my rig. LOL)

Dropped by AO Friday afternoon and began dialing in the ORI struts. Since they are 1st generation we had to read the book a bit, but we finally figured out drain then, air up the lowers, the put it on the lift and air up the upper chamber for proper ride height and resistance. I'll wheel it this weekend and adjust from there. Below are pics of it upon the lift as we are adjusting. There are NOT pictures of final ride height. LOL It was funny to think about keeping it that tall though... LOL

Random update pic. I'm getting there. Sooooo happy with the seats. Broke an axle shaft and the Hydro Assist ram last time out, so still down, but here's how she looks as of Sunday afternoon. while she's down I installed the CB antenna and most of the CB wiring. I'll finsih up the CB and maybe the radio situation this weekend.

You and Jon should just go half on an axle so we can have at least one hard/medium core jeep that wheels

I miss what our family used to be...

Axle is ordered, as is the hydro assist. Be patient young Skywalker. Look to Colorado (and several mini trips in between).

This is good news. I thought I would have to slowly savor my chili-cook off farts to tide me over to CO.
My hiking miles are winning over the rubber here.

Well, Hydro Assist is fixed and installed. Axle shaft is still on order. I am also working with Andrew on changing out my tie rod ends (whcih no one can seem to identify) and tie rod for a new set up with hiems instead of tie rod end (like Goeff built for my XJ). I'm also looking into doing an aluminum roof over the front two seats like you see on a lot of buggies. Once I'm up and running, I see a sequence of early morning Sunday runs to shake the rust off and get some AIST. Short 1 trail, 2 - 3 hours runs beginning at 6 or 6:30 is the scope right now. Don't care what trails, just need to spend time with my baby. LOL

It's been seven weeks man... got the shakes! I sat in my Jeep in the driveway this weekend going "vroom vroom". Sad.

I am working all weekend on the 8th (Friday/Sat/Sun), but may be ready for something quick on Sunday the 17th out at TM.

I also just upgraded my tie rod and tie rod ends to one that has heims instead of tie rod ends. It's been killing me trying to ge someone to identify the tie rod ends on my rig (one of which is shot), so Andrew at LetzRoll made me one like what's on his buggy with heavy duty heims. Geoff is also working on tube doors for me. This is what happens when you are down and can't wheel... you find other ways to spend money on your addiction. 8) I am helping a buddy move and putting all the new parts on my rig this weekend. If I can catch a "jeans day" at work next week, I'll drive it to work! LOL I wanted to go to W.E. Rock in Tucson this weekend, but no dice. : (
